Career and Achievements
Guadalupe de la Paz Segovia Roldán, born in Mexico City in 1943, left an indelible mark as a writer, teacher, and social activist. Throughout her life, she led two important magazines in the State of Querétaro: Cultura en Querétaro and Yo, la mujer, a feminist publication that gave voice to many women and their struggles.
Additionally, she was the host and producer of the television and radio program Letras sin tiempo on Radio y Televisión Querétaro. She also coordinated the recognition meetings for women’s work, Xochiquetzal, standing out as a key figure in promoting women’s literature.
Literary Recognitions
Guadalupe Segovia received multiple awards throughout her career. She won the Salvador Allende Award from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ) for her short story and was also awarded in the DIF literary contest. The newspaper Excelsior included her among the twenty best writers in Mexico, recognizing her talent and dedication.

Political and Social Commitment
As a politician, she was the first woman to run for municipal presidency in the capital of the State of Querétaro. Her social commitment extended to her leadership in the Nosotros Todos board, where she promoted literature among incarcerated individuals, collaborating with prominent intellectuals such as Hugo Gutiérrez Vega.
Contributions to Literature
In March 2023, Guadalupe Segovia Roldán was a panelist at the IV Festival de la Mujer en las Letras at UNAM, where she received recognition for her distinguished role as a Mexican literary figure. That same year, her book Mujer de cintura breve was reissued, with a foreword by anthropologist Diego Prieto and published under the Stockholm Project label on global platforms like Amazon by Jeanette Tiburcio Márquez (Jeanette Eureka Tiburcio). Diego Prieto described her in his foreword as “a guerrilla of tenderness, a militiawoman of the most peaceful republican causes, a gentle yet strong defender of the homeland, a warrior of justice in its most fraternal sense.”

Her heroic humanism, nobility, compassion, and support for the most vulnerable, as well as her intellectual strength, gave her superior forces to face the challenges of her time with honor.
International Awards and Recognitions
In 2021, Guadalupe received the César Vallejo Award for Humanitarian Excellence from Peru, awarded by the Hispanic World Union of Writers and Mil Mentes por México Internacional. This recognition highlighted her tireless work for social causes and her commitment to humanity.
In 2022, she was honored with the Golden Eagle Award at the MAQRO Museum and the National Art and Culture Award, consolidating her prestige in the cultural field. Additionally, on December 6, 2022, she received a prestigious recognition from UNESCO – Greece for her humanitarian work and her efforts for peace and the restructuring of the social fabric in the defense of children.
In 2024, her humanitarian excellence was once again recognized when she received the Platinum Eagle Award. Each of these awards underscores not only her talent and dedication but also her positive impact on society. She was honor member of Federación Global de Liderazgo y Alta Inteligencia mil mentes por México.
