Biography: FRED ELISABETH from French Guiana. Born in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe in the French West Indies and is a resident of French Guiana. He holds a master’s degree in modern languages (English and Spanish) applied to commerce from the University of Caen, Normandy in France. From 1997 to the present, he has been an English teacher at secondary school level in French Guiana. He participates in international virtual poetry events. He is in charge of international relations for the multilingual magazine of poetry and art of French Guiana, Mitaraka. He has been selected for several international journals and is a member of several literature collectives.
Please share your thoughts about the future of literature. When did you start writing?
I started writing again during the pandemic in virtual poetry groups. When I was studying in France I also wrote some poems. As long as man exists there will be literature.
The Good and the Bad of writing: Who is winning today in the world?
Writing allows you to express your feelings, to use your imagination. Literature is growing more and more in virtual groups.
How many books have you written and where can we find your books?
I have been involved in the publication of Mitaraka, a poetry and art magazine since 2020. It is an annual multilingual magazine. I have also participated in virtual magazines.
The book, as you prefer it, electronic or hardcover, what will be the future?
I prefer hardback books. I find them easier to read. I think there will always be hardback books and virtual books.
A wish for 2024
In 2024, I hope for the publication of the 2023-2024 issue of Mitaraka magazine. It will be published later than planned. I also hope to write a book of poetry.
