A thousand things occupied
His mind
He was taking keen interest
In his chores
The sun was to rise in time
And at its time, set
The winds waited for his nod
The rivers flowed
Looking occasionally back
At the mountain clouds.
The entire universe
Was to sleep at its time
And get to work
Things at men’s end may go wrong
But Gods order was unchallenged.
Do I figure anywhere?
I asked
And God looked at me
He appeared to be in great tension
You are never off my mind
He kindly said
Why you think so?
Whatever I am doing,
I am bound by my own will,
Like winds, and waters
You too are my responsibility
And always in my mind.
