Without Mother,

the bond that holds the bloodline together breaks,

hearts drift apart,

like scattered twigs;

Without Mother,

the wanderer becomes a stranger in his own home.

Courtesies remain as before,

yet the rift grows wider with time;

Without Mother,

the heart loses its steady anchor.

Countless thoughts can no longer gather as one.

The home without Mother

turns its rooms unfamiliar,

its old warmth fades away;

The home without Mother

has no warm hearth fire,

no laughter beside the stove.

Mother,

you are the pride in Father’s heart.

My longing for you knows no mountains or seas;

Mother,

you are the warm sun for your children,

endless love shining bright;

Mother,

you are the star for all your descendants,

forever lighting the wilderness of our souls.
