The Dongba scriptures write of eternal lives
Gods mountains rivers trees all beings
Each has its destined time
Even gods grow old
teeth yellow hair turns white

There is no elixir of immortality on earth
Only love can heal the world
This is true eternity

Human life is short
no more than a hundred years
Most pass by in decades
Like dreams illusions shadows

All gains will eventually leave
Only the present is real to hold
Let go of the past
do not fear the future
Cherish the moment
love with all your heart

Live in the moment
be free and joyful
A life without regret
is the truest wisdom of all.
