Η Sabi Gallery σάς προσκαλεί στα εγκαίνια της εικαστικής έκθεσης με θέμα τα «Όρια του Φωτός» το Σάββατο 22 Αυγούστου 2026 στις 8:00μμ στο Παλιό Λιμάνι των Σπετσών.

O Ιστορικός Τέχνης Ιάσωνας Πανούσης μας εξηγεί το θέμα της έκθεσης:

«Το φως είναι η ζωή· η σπίθα που μας κρατά μέσα στον κόσμο. Το σκοτάδι είναι η απουσία του, αλλά ταυτόχρονα και η αναγκαία προϋπόθεσή του. Το μαύρο δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει χωρίς το λευκό, όπως και η ζωή δεν μπορεί να νοηθεί χωρίς τον θάνατο. Δύο αντίθετες καταστάσεις, αλληλένδετες και αδιαχώριστες.

Η Sabi Gallery παρουσιάζει τα «Όρια του Φωτός», επιχειρώντας να ξεπεράσει τα όρια μιας ακόμη έκθεσης τέχνης και να μετατρέψει τη ζωγραφική σε ένα μέσο κριτικής της ίδιας της ζωής. Γιατί η τέχνη έχει αυτή τη μοναδική δύναμη: να μετατρέπει μια επιφάνεια σε χώρο σκέψης, να κάνει ορατό αυτό που συνήθως παραμένει αθέατο και, μέσα από την εικόνα, να θέτει ερωτήματα που ξεπερνούν την ίδια την τέχνη.

Η έκθεση δεν μιλά μόνο για το φως και το σκοτάδι. Μιλά για την ύπαρξη και την απουσία της, την αρχή και το τέλος, τη γέννηση και τον θάνατο. Γιατί ίσως ο λόγος που εκτιμούμε τόσο βαθιά τη ζωή είναι ακριβώς επειδή γνωρίζουμε πως τελειώνει. Η περατότητά της είναι αυτή που της δίνει αξία.

Η ζωή είναι ένα παιχνίδι σκιών· σπίθες ύπαρξης μέσα στο σκοτάδι. Η δύναμη του φωτός δεν βρίσκεται στην απουσία του σκοταδιού. Τα «Όρια του Φωτός» δεν ζητούν από τον θεατή να επιλέξει ανάμεσα στα δύο. Τον καλούν να τα αντικρίσει μαζί και να αναγνωρίσει πως το ένα αποκτά νόημα μέσα από το άλλο».

The Limits of Light

Light is life – the spark that keeps us within the world. Darkness is its absence, but simultaneously, its necessary condition. Black cannot exist without white, just as life cannot be conceived without death. Two opposing states, interconnected and inseparable.

Sabi Gallery presents “The Limits of Light”, seeking to move beyond the boundaries of yet another art exhibition and transform art into a means of questioning life itself. Art possesses this unique power: to turn a surface into a space for thought, to make visible what usually remains unseen, and, through the image, to raise questions that transcend art itself.

The exhibition is not only about light and darkness. It entails themes of existence and absence, beginning and end, birth and death. For perhaps the reason we value life so deeply is precisely because we know that it ends. It’s finiteness is what gives it meaning.

Life is a play of shadows – sparks of existence within the darkness. The power of light does not lie in the absence of darkness.

The Limits of Light does not ask the viewer to choose between the two. It invites them to confront them together and to recognize that one acquires meaning through the other.
