Compassion and Wholeness

Hatred in the human heart
is like fire in the palm
like sand in the eyes
like a thorn in the heart

It seems to resent others
yet torments oneself
only by letting go of hatred
can one be free and joyful

Wholeness between people
is not never having rifts
but going through all worldly things
and still letting go with a smile

dissolving grudges with compassion
letting go of prejudice with tolerance
this is the truest wholeness of life

True wholeness
lies not in a perfect world
but in harmony within
lies not in self-benefit alone
but in bringing joy to all around

True wholeness
is still facing the sun after trials
is compassion blooming like a lotus in the heart
is seeing clarity after all tests

May you dear one
hold compassion in your heart
carry light within yourself
attain ultimate wholeness
