I have slowed down the pace
And stepped out of the race.
The top is dicey, the pyramid
Is more dependable at the base
Once I fought flooding waters
And tested angry waves
Now I prefer the banks
When fight is missing from the shanks.
Wealth, power and position
Initially tempt,
Look upon love and peace
In unbecoming contempt
What use is our prosperity
Our power, if it keeps us
Ill at ease,
And we miss peaceful sleep.
