“Looking for a firefly in the dark” by Manik Chakraborty

Επιμέλεια: Εύα Πετροπούλου Λιανού

I look at the sky with bored eyes
Looking for a firefly in the dark,
The morning sun peeks through the leaves
On the mountain.
In the cool night, the scent spreads
The sleeping sycamore flowers,
The wind comes and waves
The hair of the forest maiden.
The sun shines on her body, golden

She raises her face and tries to hide,
She runs away in shame
When suddenly she stands close.
The mascara of Maya in her black eyes
loses her vision far away,
The golden bell in her silver hand
rings out a sweet melody
