Dear Timothée Bordenave. Who are you? Tell us about your childhood!
Thank you for taking interest in me ! My name is Timothee Bordenave, a Frenchman. I was born in 1984 in Paris !
About my youth : I was a very quiet boy, always reading and at the same time enjoying life, but with not a lot of television or games, more of sports and nature… I was also sometimes adventurous in my hometown and when I travelled… Then I went through many different situations that finally led me to a somehow rebel – if I could say – teenage and young adult age.
At these times, after having passed my baccalaureate, I studied law, then the information sciences, and I traveled a lot.
Then I worked as an engineer for a study center and also as director of two libraries. Nowadays I focus fully on my literary works and the practice of visual arts.

When the painting come to your life? If i am not mistaken, you did study in a law school?
Well yes, I studied in a Law school ! And as a coincidence maybe, or an antagonism also maybe, I did a lot of street art at this time ! And it came along with a lot of writing, photographing and playing music too…
I was a very busy young man, with an extensive social life and also many love-affairs.
Then I knew a period of bohemianism and of an alternative lifestyle that led me to be close from the ecological and the humanitarian organizations – both on the side of the rurality and the poor.
Whilst this was happening, I was keeping on my own practice of various art experiments.
It is hard to figure out when you see me as of today that I used to burn some abandoned cars, in the courtyards of Berlin squat houses, to turn them into trash sculptures, this for the sake of post-modernism… It makes me laugh when I think about all these crazy times I had.
Painting was an important part of my life, as street art graffiti and as studio compositions.
I used to be interested into spirituality and mysticism, which influenced my paintings a lot.
What is your opinion about the Art of today?
Well, I would say that I love the contemporary creations, because they are very much freed from any constraints. And that every one, particularly in Europe here where I live, can evolve from his or her own feelings and work out on them to express !
We are now in an art landscape where all forms and methods are allowed, and where everyone could succeed if dedicated enough to the work.

Where comes your inspiration for painting from?
I am very much inspired by the beginning of Modern Art, and what is called « The Parisian Schools », during the first half of the twentieth century, with masters such as Matisse, Kandinsky, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Fernand Léger, the brothers Dufy… I try to nourish my knowledge of different trends and techniques, but still I would always receive much from these ones… Then I think that my paintings are also very intuitive, and spontaneous !
Do you have a preference in colors or subject?
I don’t have a preference in subject, unless there are some subjects I avoid, such as any vulgarity or violence… And about colors : well I was painting a lot with blue tones recently ! It has been a year, or a little more, that I am painting all blue !

Tell us about your recent exposition?
Thank you for asking ! I have had the chance to show my works numerous times during the year 2025. I have been part of various international events, in Tokyo, New York, Miami, Milan, London, Madrid, and so on… Big cities, major venues, all around the planet ! It was a great thrill. Then I have also presented my works, both for photography and painting, during many events in Paris ! It was a tremendous year 2025.
At the same time, by the way, my literary works knew a new span over the planet also, with many translations and many interactions between me and some international medias… What a joy to me !
What are you planning for the future?
If I can foresee now what could happen next, I would say that I want to try to focus on the creative process itself more and maybe organize less events, in order to paint more, write more often also… Whilst getting a little rest too because these events and art-parties are very demanding to me. I would love to take more time for my arts, and myself.

Do you call yourself: Painter or author? Or both?
Here, I can say, both! The two creative genres of visual art, on one side, and of literature, on the other side, dialogue between themselves and they are not so distinct in the days I live, only a partition of my time of creativity maybe, but still they collide, intertwin, both are just as important to my life.
Painter, author, and if I can add also something here : I am also a musician, who still as of today has a great interest into the contemporary music, and I am also, some have said : an inventor, because I have been at the origin of some new concepts such as my results in the fields of geometry exemplify this, or also my researches on a naval automation, the anti pollution nets intercepting plastics at the mouth of a river, or else the idea to promote agricultural irrigation techniques or the «grazing fallows», etc.
I think maybe: that my entire life now is devoted to the creative expression and research, with different kinds of ideas and techniques, and matters. This dynamic will follow on, hopefully, as long as our Lord gives me life.
