Civil War by Jernail S Aanand
Justice is not instant but insistent
Can not be delayed forever
Nor forever denied.
Gods do not react fast
They ingest our actions
Take to the chemical lab
Forensic tests are done
DNA is tested
And they are placed
In the arch of actions
Justified or not?
Is the question eternally debated
Our body at times acts like a god
Instantly does not reject anything
The mouth is open,
Throw anything in
As you throw into the earth.
But unlike earth, it’s reaction is instant
It rejects food
And sends you to the doctor’s.
Body accepts your will
But rejects your overtures and excesses.
Human mind too is a kitchen
Where conspiracies are cooked
No Entry to Discretion.
Worst things get instant entry
No security search
Red carpet welcome
When they set up a bivouac inside
They wage a civil war
Mind infecting the body
And body accusing the mind.
BACK LUST by Jernail S Aanand
Man who was at the mercy of elements
Feared tempests
And waited for rains
And in fear prayed to
Rivers, trees, animals and birds,
Thinking it might appease gods
Has been displaced by a man
Who does not fear elements
Who can put dams
On rivers
And create electricity which
Which will run his civilization.
Both the men are poles apart,
Yet the man lost
In the mist of centuries
Was more practical
As he looked forward
And here we are his advanced versions,
Than his counterpart today
Infested by Back lust
Who enjoys the luxuries
Of a distant past
Which was wrapped in the
Atrocities of kings, with a helpless mass.
CREATING NEW ARCHETYPES
We come from darkness
To darkness retire
Life was the fuel
And Time its fire.
The backdrop casts
A powerful spell
How we were
The centuries tell
The stories of wisdom
Keep us on hold
Present is silver
Old is gold
Old myths serve as
Booby traps
Creating in our lives
Glaring gaps
We deny all our knowledge
And forget the gain
How technology
Has halved our pain.
What man was, and what
He is today,
We have updated
Ourselves in every way
