Poem by Maria Miraglia from Italy

Επιμέλεια: Εύα Πετροπούλου Λιανού

GAZA

My heart bleeds from the pain

that would explode

like fireworks

to light up the skies

of towns and countries

to show they have no boundaries

Make it visible to the blinded

by cruelty and greed

that the clouds and stars

don’t wave flags

all men living under the same sky

And then cry out

my joy for life

but all my anger too

and shout against the powerful

to awaken their conscience

If only I could

stretch out my hands

to caress the children in Gaza

dry their mothers’ tears

share the sorrows of men

outraged in their souls and bodies

and sing with them hymns of peace
