“Mother Tounge” by Mahadeb Chatterjee

Επιμέλεια: Εύα Πετροπούλου Λιανού

Mother tongue is like a mother,
Full of grace like no other.
Pure and secret from the start,
Deeply crafted in the heart.

It is breath of our life,
Joy in peace and calm in strife.
From our mother’s lips they flow,
Seeds of affection that always glow.

Don’t call other’s language bad,
Such a conflict makes us sad.
Every tongue  has its own pride,
Don’t try to walk with stride.

Respect all languages with care,
Treat them all with love and prayer.
Through ages ,sweet and deep,
Memories that we always keep.

Language is the light so bright,
Guiding us through every night.
Like a mother’s kiss only tender face,
It feels our minds with gentle grace.
