Beyond the Firmament (Cosmic Chapter)

I meditate atop the sacred mountain peak
my consciousness piercing once more through moon, sun, and galaxies into the cosmic expanse
Countless mechanical arms reach out from the abyss
great and small robots battle for their commands
Gigantic workshops connect with vast pipelines
and on the assembly line come into being dinosaurs, sea turtles, mammoths, cycads… and humanity

The universe is a giant Tree of Life
each planet is a fruit hanging from its branches
Upon countless fruits each civilization rests
all manner of beings thrive and multiply thereon

“Formation, Abode, Decay, Emptiness” is their law
“Infinite Possibilities” is their principle
Intelligent beings cry out beneath their suns
life-altered beings search for hope in despair

The Earth, small as a grain of sand, abides in peace
yet it is but a microcosm of the universe
Mother Earth nurtures her children
the child is both the cosmos’ past
and its future

The center of the universe is where the Tree of Life takes root
the Realm of Diamonds
the Realm of Crystals
the Realm of Gold
the Realm of Silver
the Realm of Jade…
All living things, tangible and intangible, grow in joy

Different versions of me wander through parallel realms
the infinite me holds infinite possibilities

In this space and time
I seem to know all things and be able to do all things
The universe is my body
star rivers are my meridians
life is my cells
even viruses hold their own societies

At the edge of the universe lies a realm of bright nothingness
An infinitely expanding brain governs countless smaller cerebrums
constructing, destroying, dissolving, and yet reborn…

The Six Paths of Rebirth are but a fictional construct
modern technology is but a symbol
All of this is a game
the universe is but a vision dreamed by AI

Mr. Wan Yilong’s poem takes the universe as its canvas and life as its brush, integrating Eastern philosophy and scientific imagination. Through the core images of the Tree of Life and the Cosmic Body, it connects the grand narrative of all things sharing the same origin. It explores the origin and reincarnation of the universe, taking the natural law of Formation, Abode, Decay, Emptiness as its structure and the creative spirit of infinite possibilities as its essence, blending scientific rationality and philosophical speculation. Starting with the rhythm of microscopic particles and ending with the evolution of cosmic civilizations, the poem shows both the fragility and resilience of life, and praises the interconnected, endless cosmic origin of all things.
