Despite all the fresh water that the sky pours into the sea, it remains salty!
So do not exhaust yourself, for some people never change no matter how hard you try.
No matter how much we try, advise, and guide those we want good for, and offer them kindness and generosity so they recognize it, it may be in vain.
We have not learned self-denial and ingratitude, and we do not know that denial and ingratitude reside in the hearts of many. Some deny favors, belittle people’s efforts, and forget those who taught them even a single letter, yet they claim mastery over them. In everyday life, doing good is often met with many difficulties. There are people who refuse to apologize, admit mistakes, or seek forgiveness, forgetting that admitting mistakes is a virtue.
Many of them are chameleon-like, changing according to their environment and desires. These colors themselves are their weapon for deception and reaching their worldly goals. Hypocrisy, lying, and adaptability are their easiest way to deal with people, polishing the dull to make it shiny, and dulling the shiny to make it dull, far be it from the clean human being.
In my opinion, these are the ones with superficial glitter: one thing on the outside, another inside that has nothing to do with its contents.
I remember a saying of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about this:
“Be cautious, be cautious, be cautious, for sweat is treacherous.”
Despite all the good and favors given to some people, ingratitude and denial dominate them, and they flaunt it. But we, by God, purify our souls; we do not know the twisted and winding ways, for we were created on God’s innate nature that He created everything with. What we were raised on is the path of truth, which is easy, though some obstacles may hinder us, it is easy from God.
So what can we say about such people?
Despite all the fresh water poured into the sea, it remains salty!
So do not exhaust yourself, for some people never change no matter how hard you try.
He who grows up on something will grow old on it, and a similar soul is naturally drawn to it.
God is the guide.
