Voice of Civilization from Asia: Lan Xin Presents Dongba Wisdom at the ONO International Congress of Indigenous Peoples in Mexico

Lan Xin, Chinese writer, poet and the only female inheritor of UNESCO‑listed Dongba Culture, was invited to the ONO International Congress of Indigenous Peoples in Mexico. Unable to be present on‑site, she shared profound ancient Eastern wisdom via video. Having broken millennial inheritance conventions, she dedicates her life to protecting this fading indigenous civilization and appeals for cultural diversity, love and global peace.

Respected President of Mexico, respected global leaders, respected ONO committee ladies and gentlemen
I am Lan Xin from China. I am a writer, poet, and the only female inheritor of Dongba Culture. The dean of China Dongba Culture Academy.
It is a great honor to join this important global indigenous conference. My new book Phoenix Nirvana has been published. I am truly grateful for this precious invitation to share Eastern ancient civilization wisdom with the world.
Dongba Culture is a UNESCO Memory of the World heritage. Dongba pictograph is the only living and complete hieroglyph system on our planet today. While Egyptian and Maya ancient scripts have disappeared, Dongba civilization still survives and carries the ancient spiritual power of human beings.
However, like most indigenous cultures worldwide, Dongba civilization is now facing the risk of cultural fading. The ancient wisdom is gradually disappearing, and young generations are losing connection with their ancient roots.
Nine years ago, I broke the thousand-year inheritance rule of Dongba Culture and became its first and only female inheritor. Since then, I have devoted myself entirely to protecting and spreading this precious civilization.

I have founded public welfare Dongba cultural academy, sorted out ancient classics, translated core epics, and interpreted Dongba wisdom in modern and literary ways. Through poems and global cultural exchanges, I spread the universal spiritual value of Dongba civilization to the international community. My original cultural works are also being published globally, to bring Eastern spiritual strength to all human beings.
Today, I would like to share four core spiritual concepts from Dongba ancient scriptures, for the common development of all indigenous civilizations.
First, harmonious coexistence between human and nature.

Dongba culture believes that human beings and all natural lives share the same origin. We are brothers and sisters of this earth. We must be grateful, respectful, and live in harmony with nature. This wisdom provides an ancient and advanced model for protecting our global homeland.
Second, inclusive and equal civilization view.
All ethnic cultures and indigenous civilizations are precious.We should respect cultural differences, embrace diversity with love, and build a peaceful dialogue platform for all nations.
Third, sustainable inheritance of ancient civilization.
Civilization belongs to all mankind, not limited by race or bloodline. Everyone with reverence and love can inherit ancient wisdom. We interpret ancient classics in modern language, bridge the gap between ancient and modern times, and activate traditional culture to adapt to the current world. This provides a practical way to save fading indigenous cultures.

Fourth, equal and peaceful spiritual philosophy.
Life is a continuous cycle. We cherish every life, keep inner peace, kindness and tolerance. This spiritual power comforts modern society and brings peaceful strength to all humanity.
Love is the source of the universe.
Love is the greatest power on earth.
Love is the universal language of the world.
This ancient wisdom has no boundaries of country, race or time.
Let all civilizations respect each other, learn from each other. Let us protect our cultural roots, heal our earth, and build a loving, peaceful home for all future generations.
