The Woman in my life By Nandita De nee Chatterjee

Her face my felicity
Her smiles my tranquility
Her dancing curls my rhythm
Her twinkling eyes my beacon
Her arms my bulwark
Her lap the repository of my problems
Her courage my vanguard
Her piety my polestar
Her chastity my reverence
Her steps my direction
Her fragility my undoing
Her ire my flaws.

Like a rampart she’s sheltered us
Her beauty and grace enveloped us
Her femininity never forsaken
She’s held us through dissensions
Tiny her frame
Invincible her values
Playful and mirthful
She fills our lives with joy
Oh Blessed the Earth
Where a blossom like her has bloomed.
Exalted my fortune
To be birthed from her womb.
