Dear friends, today’s society is being torn apart by a strange contradiction – we long for poetry more than ever, yet look down upon poets more than ever.
When algorithms dominate reading and short videos dismember thinking, poetry is compressed into “golden quotes” and poets are simplified into “Internet celebrities”. We consume emotions but refuse to gaze deeply. We chase after traffic, but forget the silent questioning. True poets linger on the fringes, while pseudo-poetry floods the hot search list – this is not a cultural prosperity, but a spiritual anemia.
Even more absurdly, in this era that urgently needs criticism and healing, poets are pushed to two extremes: either they are placed on a pedestal and become commercial symbols; Either be dismissed as useless and become an ornament of The Times. But poetry is never the supplier of answers; rather, it is the guardian of questions. When society suddenly collapses – no matter what. The collapse of trust, the contamination of language, or the disappearance of meaning – those overlooked verses often predict this fever first.
Please remember: Poets are not cheerleaders of The Times, but night watchmen. When you are lost in the torrent of data, those stubborn and inappropriate sentences might be seeking the key to the lost soul.
Anna
