When dawn breaks with your hardest morning,
when every soul has turned away,
and pain wraps tightly around your heart,
remember,you are not alone today.
When they forget you,
turn their backs and wound you without shame,
never waste your tears on those
unworthy of your spirit and your name.
For you are a lioness,
graceful, fierce, and strong;
you are a lady of rare worth,
and you have been all along.
If ever you long for someone to listen,
even in silence, wordlessly near,
reach out to me, do not hesitate,
I’ll offer a smile that softens fear.
If sorrow is slowly consuming your soul,
share its burden and let it be known;
I am not one of those passing shadows
whose only talent is leaving you alone.
I am here to bring you peace,
if only through a gentle gaze,
to remind you of the strength within
that lights your darkest days.
Let people talk if they choose to,
anyone can be brave with their tongue;
but to be you, to walk your road,
has never been easy for anyone.
So when they look at you with eyes
unworthy of meeting your own,

and leave their bitterness unknown.
Swim bravely through life’s endless sea,
