THERE I WILL WAIT FOR YOU by Milica Ristić from Serbia

Επιμέλεια: Εύα Πετροπούλου Λιανού

On the boundary between the end and a new beginning,
on the edge of the earthly,
in the pause of the taken-for-granted,
in the small rest of eternal schooling,
in the last second of an overly long minute on an old clock that is late;
Behind every obligation that we have imposed on ourselves, fleeing from sin;
At the stake that all those sinless have set;
In the courtyard of an old, dilapidated treasury of sincere feelings;
After the setting of every new sun, and the extinguishing of yet another day in which you will not be;
At the end of our imagined street, under the blossomed linden that has absorbed all the words of our existence, and has brought forth its flowers as the most beautiful fruits for us.
Too strong is the scent of the linden flowers, so much that I often see nothing;
But there I will wait for you.

Milica Ristić is a Serbian poet born on May 19, 1994, in Vranje.
