I have been in this city for a long time
Tired of seeing human faces
Tired of seeing my own face
I’m so embarrassed
Then I put on a mask and run around
Greet everyone on the street
They don’t care
Then I saw my face in the mirror
There are only black lines in my eyes.

Brunei Darussalam

I sat on the bench
In a quiet garden
Looking at an apple tree
Waiting for the fruit to fall
My eyes hurt and were red, while the apple didn’t fall either
My eyes started to get tired and sleepy
I started to sleep and dreamed of eating an apple
When I woke up my lips were cut and bleeding.

I’m looking for myself
in the quiet dark
then I lit a candle
the fire lit up the room
I saw my face lit up
but I don’t know myself.
